On Reel Easy Charters, all equipment and bait is provided. A variety of bait, lures, and techniques are used depending on the water temperature, river conditions and the time of the run. The spring Hudson River Striper run occurs primarily during the months of April and May. During this time, bait fishing and trolling can be productive fishing techniques. Regardless of which method is used, it is always thrilling to feel the weight of a striper bending the rod and challenging your angling skills. No one can guarantee success or a record fish, but we will do our best to help you have a day to remember. Directions to the Dock From NYS Thruway exit 19, go around the Kingston traffic circle to Washington Avenue Exit. Follow Washington Avenue to the blinking red light. Turn left onto Greenkill Ave. Go straight through a 6-way intersection and turn right at the first light onto Wilbur Avenue. Go to the end of Wilbur Avenue and turn left (Abeel Street, but not marked). Go .4 miles, and 340 Abeel Street is on the right. From Thruway exit to dock is approximately 4 miles and takes 10 -15 minutes. A picnic area with tables, and regular bathroom facilities are available at the marina. A marine toilet is onboard. The captain reserves the right to return to the dock if anyone becomes intoxicated during the trip.
